KDDI and Okinawa Cellular are pleased to announce the addition of ten new handsets to their lineup, for release starting from early February.
The new lineup features handsets enhanced with Bluetooth®, promoting wireless music and providing new ways to enjoy music over Bluetooth®. Linking with other music devices that support Bluetooth® (sold separately) brings new freedom and comfort to your music listening.
One way to enjoy wireless music is on the sporting scene. With the introduction of the 'au Smart Sports', five of the new handsets will include the 'au Smart Sports Run & Walk' applications pre-installed, to help owners 'shape up' through sporting activities.
With models supporting Bluetooth®, owners can listen to wireless music while running or walking with no interference from body movements. Water-resistant models are good for working out without fear of sudden rainfall, and other models have been designed to keep up with trends in sports-fashion design.
For video services, KDDI is also introducing the world's first [1] handset featuring a 3.0 inch full-wide QVGA organic-electroluminescent display. Watch One-Seg television on this beautiful, high-contrast, excellent color reproduction display.
Other models include ones with a beautiful illuminated panel designed on the theme of "light", and another which is the first [2] in Japan to include back panels using e-paper to provide fun and interesting displays.
And, as of mid-February the popular AQUOS Keitai, W61SH, (from Sharp Corp.) which went on sale January 9, will be available in two new colors: green and blue. Including AQUOS Keitai W61SH brings the spring handset line up from au to 11 models.
Release dates will be announced separately.
