KDDI Corporation will launch TELEHOUSE HONG KONG CCC in December 2011 in Hong Kong, and begin providing data center services that meet the TELEHOUSE global standard. KDDI will invest 50 percent in HKCOLO.NET, a data center operator in Hong Kong, which will manage TELEHOUSE HONG KONG CCC.
With this launch, TELEHOUSE brand data centers will number 21 sites in 13 cities and 10 regions and worldwide.
"TELEHOUSE HONG KONG CCC" will be located in Tseung Kwan O district where the data center of Hong Kong Stock Exchange is constructed and concentration of data centers are expected due to the high connectivity from the cable landing stations. It will be the most advanced data center in Hong Kong with the floor area of 36,000m². In addition to the redundancy to meet carrier diversity, it has two routes of power supply from uninterruptible power supply (UPS), supplied via different power substations, and backup generator in incidences such as blackouts. Extensive security measures have been implemented, which include 24 hours/365 days monitoring system and access management using authentication, to provide high quality facilities and services that match the "TELEHOUSE" global standard.
The data center also provides disaster recovery service where clients can use a part of its space as office area in the case of natural disasters etc.
