[Notification] | August 11, 1998 |
KDD America Inc. (main office: New York, president: Hiroshi Hirai), a wholly-owned subsidiary of KDD (Japan's Global Communications), today (Japan time) launched its international telephone services to Japan and the U.K. under the license for its facilities-based international telecommunications business.
KDD America has been providing its domestic and international telephone services by resale-type operation since June 1 this year. Now, its international telephone services to Japan and the U.K. are provided as a part of its facilities-based business with the use of direct circuits connecting KDD America with KDD and KDD Europe Ltd. (main office: London, president: Toshio Takahashi) respectively.
KDD Europe, with its own facilities, has already been providing its international telephone service with KDD since February this year. With this launch of the services by KDD America, KDDÕs points of presence in Japan, the U.S. and the U.K. have been linked by the global network owned by KDD Group.
KDD will continue to collaborate with its group companies to expand its overseas telecommunications business from the U.S., the U.K., Germany, and France to the rest of the world.
