KDD Corporation to launch "KDD WIDE SAVER", a lump-sum discount plan for domestic and international telephone calls aiming at business customers

Kokusai Denshin Denwa Co. Ltd. (KDD) filed today with the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications a notification of the tariff for "KDD WIDE SAVER", a new lump-sum discount service for domestic and international telephone calls to be provided by KDD Corporation after the planned merger with Teleway Corporation (Teleway) on December 1 this year. The service is to be put into operation from the same date.

KDD WIDE SAVER can be summarized as follows:

(1) Bill-by-bill discounts on the lump sum of domestic and international calls.
KDD WIDE SAVER is a discount plan for business use, under which discounts apply on a bill-by-bill basis to the aggregate of charges for the qualified calls including international calls by dialing 001 etc. and domestic calls by dialing 0070 on multiple subscriber lines within a single corporation.
The applicable international calls include 001 International Direct Dialing calls, operator-assisted calls, credit card calls, VPN, INMARSAT and other calls.
The applicable domestic calls include 0070 domestic calls, ISDN and other calls.
The plan will be available with no registration fee or monthly basic charge, and will be applicable to both domestic and international calls at any time of day.

(2) The more usage, the more savings. KDD WIDE SAVER benefits larger volume customers, since its discount rates vary according to their total monthly usage for domestic and international calls.
Customers will enjoy the discounts of 15% for their monthly usage of 10,000 yen to less than 50,000 yen, 20% for 50,000 yen to less than 500,000 yen, or 25% for 500,000 yen or more, each of which apply to the whole chargeable usage.

(3) Additional significant savings by combination with other discount plans.
The plan brings further discounts for those customers with tie-line access discount contracts; by 20% with Bypass Line additionally from their usage for domestic calls, and 15% with Route KDD additionally from their usage for international calls. For international calls, a combination of Route KDD and VPN (VIRNET) generates as much as 40% or more savings.
