August 10, 2021
KDDI Corporation
KDDI invested in Antway Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Kei Maejima; hereinafter, "Antway"), the provider of the "Tsukurioki.jp" home cooking delivery service through KDDI Open Innovation Fund III (operated by Global Brain Corporation; hereinafter "KOIF III"), which aims to incubate new business co-creations with promising venture startups.
Furthermore, this represents the first startup investment in the food tech area by KOIF III, and the fund will accelerate investments in a wide range of food tech related areas to help improve customer engagement going forward.
Antway is the company that operates the "Tsukurioki.jp" service which delivers home cooking handmade by full-time chefs under the supervision of a registered dietitian in the company's Tokyo kitchen once a week to subscribers' homes. The service can be expected to resolve the cooking-related concerns of working parents and create time for hobbies, work, and children by providing the delicious and safe cooking of "Tsukurioki.jp."
Through this investment, KDDI will support Antway with customer introductions using the points of contact with its own customers.
As "the company that customers feel closest to," KDDI will continue to promote business co-creation through investment in promising startup companies, and create new business models together with customers and partners.
