KDDI Open Innovation Fund III: Investing in Xayn's Development of the Next-Generation Search Engine

KDDI invested in Xayn AG (Headquarters: Berlin, Germany; CEO: Leif-Nissen Lundbæk; hereinafter "Xayn"), a startup company that develops a next-generation search engine that is based in Berlin, through KDDI Open Innovation Fund III (operated by Global Brain Corporation; hereinafter "KOIF III") which aims to incubate new business co-creations with promising venture startups.
Xayn applies state-of-the-art AI technologies with a focus on privacy protection, and developed and provides the cleanly designed "Xayn" search engine which distributes personalized search results without storing personal information such as Internet search histories on central servers.
Through this investment, KDDI supports the promotion of the Xayn service in Japan in order to provide safe and secure Internet experiences for its customers.
As "the company that customers feel closest to," KDDI will continue to promote business co-creation through investment in promising startup companies, and create new business models together with customers and partners.
