KDDI Corporation
KDDI additionally invested in SHE, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Eri Fukuda; hereinafter: "SHE"), the provider of a career school for women in the Millennial Generation, through KDDI Open Innovation Fund III (operated by Global Brain Corporation; hereinafter "KOIF III"), which aims to incubate new business co-creations with promising venture startups.
SHElikes, a career school for women provided by SHE, is a career school community where users can learn 27 different creative skills that allow them to work with only a computer, such as Web design, Web marketing, and writing skills. SHElikes is intended to cultivate multi-creators demanded in today’s world and help users achieve an individual work style that is not confined by time and location.
At SHElikes, not only can users take in courses that suit their needs, but users can also participate in a community where they can interact with other members to receive coaching or job acquisition support. More than 90% of the SHElikes members are women in their 20's or 30's, or the Millennial Generation, who find the numerous role models of diverse career development and work styles, including career shifts and sidelines attractive. SHElikes has a total of more than 60,000 members and is still growing its business and user base.
Through this investment, KDDI will support SHElike as it aims to build a platform where "learning" and "working" circulate, providing a framework that allows all motivated users can re-skill themselves and achieve their ideal career and lifestyle.
As "the company that customers feel closest to," KDDI will continue to promote business co-creation through investment in promising startup companies, and create new business models together with customers and partners.
