KDDI Open Innovation Fund III Makes Additional Investment in Unabiz Holdings Pte. Ltd., a Massive IoT Service Provider & Integrator

KDDI made an additional investment in Unabiz Holdings Pte. Ltd. (Headquarters: Singapore; CEO: Henri Bong; hereinafter "Unabiz"), the provider and integrator of more than 13 million Sigfox connections around the world, through the KDDI Open Innovation Fund III (operated by Global Brain Corporation; hereinafter "KOIF III"), which aims to incubate new business co-creations with promising venture startups.

Unabiz provides device design, manufacturing, and cloud platform services for low-power wide area (LPWA) networks such as Sigfox, LTE-M, NB-IoT, and LoRa. Businesses such as smart measurement, smart facility management, smart logistics, and supply chains are experiencing particularly strong growth.

Through this additional investment in Unabiz, KDDI will also collaborate with SORACOM, INC. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Ken Tamagawa), the KDDI Group company that provides a global IoT platform, to promote further development of the IoT market.

As "the company that customers feel closest to," KDDI will continue to promote business co-creation through investment in promising startup companies, and create new business models together with customers and partners.
