December 4, 2024
KDDI CORPORATION
KDDI invested in Bounce, Inc. (Headquarters: San Francisco, California, United States; CEO: Cody Candee; hereinafter "Bounce"), the provider of a global network of luggage storage services, through KDDI Open Innovation Fund III (operated by Global Brain Corporation; hereinafter "KOIF III"), which aims to incubate new business co-creations with promising venture startups.
Bounce cooperates with local businesses to provide marketplace-type temporary luggage storage services aimed primarily at tourists. The company has expanded the number of local partners and users in more than 100 countries around the world, mainly in Europe and the United States in cities such as London, Tokyo, New York, Dubai, Sydney, and Paris, to become the current global market leader.
Going forward, Bounce plans to continue its full-scale expansion of operations in Europe, South America, North America, and Asia.
Through this investment, KDDI will leverage real assets such as the stores it owns, as well as its knowledge of store management methods, to support Bounce's expansion in Japan.
As "the company that customers feel closest to," KDDI will continue to promote business co-creation through investment in promising startup companies, and create new business models together with customers and partners.
